Freedom School & Financial Literacy Programs
(Not Available At This Time)
The MLKARC Freedom School and Financial Literacy Programs have served 100 low to moderate-income middle school students for 10 consecutive summers. The Freedom School curriculum promoted reading, cooperative learning, critical thinking, and discussion skills. The financial literacy component is a hands-on approach that helped students realize the correlation between educational achievement and success in the marketplace. Students are introduced to concepts such as of saving, investing, and wealth creation. Students are also counseled on the appropriate use of credit and its inevitable impact on their lives as it relates to consumer loans and future employment opportunities.
